Through this virtual seminar ICAE, in cooperation with DVV International, therefore wants to promote a debate and dialogue on selected articles from DVV International\u2019s journal&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/en\/adult-education-and-development\/\">Adult Education and Development<\/a>. This offers the chance to discuss the topics raised in the print issue in a virtual seminar and to go deeper and broaden the analysis. It creates a virtual space as an opportunity to share experiences from different regions and contexts, and to inspire new initiatives.<\/p><p><strong>Experiences and good practices from around the globe<\/strong><\/p><p>In the latest issue of Adult Education and Development (AED), 20 authors from all over the world discuss the many facets of \u201crole and impact of adult education\u201d. They take a closer look at its impact on the world and on our lives, as well as share thoughts on what role adult education plays in development work and in the current global debate on the wider benefits of learning.<\/p><p>What role does adult education play in society and in the lives of individuals? What contribution can it make to meeting challenges such as poverty, globalisation or digitisation? How can adult educators ensure that their programmes and offers achieve the desired impact? And how can we measure impact? These are some of the questions raised in this year\u2019s issue of AED.<\/p><p><strong>The seminar is free of charge, open to anyone and will start on 25<sup>th<\/sup>of February.<\/strong><\/p><p>The following articles of issue 85 of Adult Education and Development will be this years\u00b4 starting point of the seminar:<\/p><ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li><strong>Henrique Lopes<\/strong>illustrates&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/section-1-playing-a-role\/how-adult-education-can-save-your-life\/\">how adult education as \u201chealthcare literacy\u201d can save our lives<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>Samuel Asnake Wollie<\/strong>comments on the&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/columns\/the-keys-to-a-peaceful-and-prosperous-africa\/\">role of adult education for the future of the African continent<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/li><li><strong>Chanell Butler-Morello<\/strong>introduces a&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/section-2-achieving-results\/impact-beyond-the-tests-adult-education-that-makes-a-real-difference\/\">programme that educates and empowers adults with disabilities to live more independently, improve academic skills, and gain employment<\/a>.<\/li><li><strong>C\u00e9sar Guadalupe<\/strong>identifies some major&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/section-3-figuring-it-out\/the-challenges-regarding-data-production\/\">issues regarding the generation and availability of data on youth and adult education.<\/a><\/li><\/ul><p>You can already find the articles here:&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/get-involved\/icae-virtual-seminar-2019\/\">https:\/\/www.dvv-international.de\/adult-education-and-development\/editions\/aed-852018-role-and-impact-of-adult-education\/get-involved\/icae-virtual-seminar-2019\/<\/a>(in English, French and Spanish) and follow the discussion on the dedicated ICAE Website&nbsp;<a href=\"http:\/\/virtualseminar.icae.global.\/\">http:\/\/virtualseminar.icae.global.<\/a><\/p><p><strong>Get involved and be part of the ICAE virtual Seminar 2019!<\/strong><\/p><p>Do you want to participate?
