Have a look at the \u201cKey CSO recommendations to the CONFINTEA VII Drafting Commitee on the Zero Draft of MFA<\/strong><\/a>\u201d that came out of the Civil Society Forum on 14 June. We suggest focusing on four points in our advocacy to improve the MFA:<\/p>
  1. Strengthen the commitment for ALE Financing<\/strong> in Paragraphs 20 and 21 attuned to country contexts (page 5)<\/li>
  2. Expand efforts for implementation of literacy<\/strong> policies in paragraph 25 (page 6)<\/li>
  3. Strengthening support for ALE teachers and educators as central to ensuring quality<\/strong> ALE in paragraph 17 (page 4)<\/li>
  4. Bringing in the voices of learners<\/strong> in planning, designing and implementing ALE policies and programmes in paragraph 15 (pages 3-4)<\/li><\/ol>

    Dear ICAE members, partners, colleagues, activists, experts and friends of ALE around the globe!<\/p>
    UNESCO has announced that the CONFINTEA VII conference with the theme \u2019Adult learning and education for sustainable development \u2013 a transformative agenda\u2019 will be held from 15 to 17 June 2022 in Marrakech, Morocco.<\/p>
    The Civil Society Forum will be a hybrid forum to be held in person in Marrakech and virtually, with no limit on the number of participants. Civil society organisations from across the globe will come together to review the latest developments in adult learning and education, globally and across the regions, discuss problems and priorities, launch ICAE Spotlight Report and adopt a Global ALE Manifesto that will inform the final set of civil society recommendations for CONFINTEA VII and the Marrakech Framework for Action.<\/p>
    The Forum will provide a platform for discussions on the crucial challenges for ALE today and identify priorities for the coming years, including:<\/p>
