CAE continues to represent civil society in education platforms at the highest level of global advocacy via the Major Groups and Stakeholders (MGoS). As co-chair of Education and Academia Stakeholder Group (EASG) and a member of Steering group that represents different stakeholders in UN, we continue to be involved in reviewing and monitoring the implementation of the SDGs, we take active part in meetings with high officials in UN, we advocate for more space for civil society in these arenas, and we continue to explore more ways for how to better engage, especially those who work in the grassroots level, at the global level.
We continue to actively take part in the HLPF review process, which was slowed down this year because of COVID-19, so everything was done online. We have advocated for more action oriented HLPF, for more engagement and more support to education and the SDG 4. It includes organising meetings, joining actions with other partners and groups, preparing statements and letters and improving the work of MGoS. At the heart of this engagement, is our continued commitment to advancing Adult Learning and Education (ALE) in all these spaces.
