2. Opening Remarks & Strategic Context
The meeting was opened by Mr. Aziz Kaichouh, who highlighted the vital nature of the AFLLL and ICAE partnership. Discussions centered on:
- Global Frameworks: Advancing the GRALE and the Marrakesh Framework for Action (MFA).
- Future Milestones: Strategic preparation for the 2028 Mid-term Conference.
- Core Principles: Upholding education as a fundamental human right to foster an equitable and just world.
Network Strength: Acknowledging that ICAE’s global impact is rooted in the strength of its regional networks.
3. Proposed Joint Activities
The following actionable initiatives were identified for collaboration:
- Advocacy: Development of projects overseen by a dedicated steering committee.
- Knowledge Sharing: Hosting four webinars annually (two in English, two in French).
- Research: Establishing a specialized “LLL Think Tank.”
- Major Event: Joint participation in the Lifelong Learning Conference in Morocco in January 2027.

5. Contributions & Roles
- AI Integration: Ms. Salma Bouterraka will lead efforts to integrate AI and digitalization into adult learning initiatives.
- Advocacy Sub-group: Mr. Elarbi Imad and Ms. Carole Avande Houndjo were nominated to join the “Advocacy Spaces for Adult Learning” focus group.
