2. Opening Remarks & Strategic Context

The meeting was opened by Mr. Aziz Kaichouh, who highlighted the vital nature of the AFLLL and ICAE partnership. Discussions centered on:

  • Global Frameworks: Advancing the GRALE and the Marrakesh Framework for Action (MFA).
  • Future Milestones: Strategic preparation for the 2028 Mid-term Conference.
  • Core Principles: Upholding education as a fundamental human right to foster an equitable and just world.

Network Strength: Acknowledging that ICAE’s global impact is rooted in the strength of its regional networks.

3. Proposed Joint Activities

The following actionable initiatives were identified for collaboration:

  • Advocacy: Development of projects overseen by a dedicated steering committee.
  • Knowledge Sharing: Hosting four webinars annually (two in English, two in French).
  • Research: Establishing a specialized “LLL Think Tank.”
  • Major Event: Joint participation in the Lifelong Learning Conference in Morocco in January 2027.

  • Advocacy Sub-group: Mr. Elarbi Imad and Ms. Carole Avande Houndjo were nominated to join the “Advocacy Spaces for Adult Learning” focus group.
